Nigeria to Welcome Global Investors and Founders to Drive Africa’s Next Wave of Deals and Exits

Hundreds of investors and capital providers are expected to converge in Lagos this October to drive the next phase of deal flow and historic funding opportunities for promising African startups. At Moonshot by TechCabal 2025 (https://Moonshot.TechCabal.com/), Africa’s flagship innovation conference, participants will engage directly with founders, lead conversations on cross-border partnerships, and shape exit strategies designed to accelerate Africa’s innovation economy.

After a global funding slowdown in 2023–2024, African tech is showing early signs of recovery, with startup funding climbing to $1.42 billion across 243 deals (https://apo-opa.co/4nc9Vkh) in the first half of 2025 – a 78% increase from last year. African startups are also expanding into global markets, exporting homegrown solutions to address global challenges. Building on this momentum will require strengthening deal flow, creating more robust exit opportunities, and boosting investor confidence so that capital can be further channelled into the ecosystem. These priorities, and the challenges they present for the ecosystem, will guide discussions among founders, investors, venture capitalists, angels, and limited partners (LPs) at Moonshot, across multiple content tracks.

Driving these conversations across diverse panels and keynotes includes Maxime Bayen, Operating Partner at FundCatalyst (www.TheCatalystFund.com); Lexi Novitske, General Partner, Norrskken 22 (www.Norrsken22.com); Tito Cookey-Gam, Principal at Partech Africa (https://PartechPartners.com); and Eloho Omame, Partner at TLcom Capital (https://TLcomCapital.com), among others. Digital for Development (D4D) (https://D4DHub.eu/), representing the European Union, will also lead a delegation of more than 100 investors and ecosystem leaders from across Europe to Lagos, with their participation set to drive critical conversations and accelerate deal flow between African startups and global capital.

Speaking about the gathering, Tomiwa Aladekomo, CEO of Big Cabal Media (https://BigCabal.com/), said: “The African tech ecosystem is gaining real momentum, and we’re seeing a growing appetite from global investors to back its next wave of startups. This is the moment to connect ambitious founders with the right capital, explore how exit opportunities can sustain growth, and build partnerships that truly scale. At this year’s Moonshot, we’re creating the space for those conversations to happen, turning that momentum into tangible opportunities for founders, investors, and the ecosystem as a whole. And beyond funding, we’re exploring emerging sectors like AI, payments infrastructure, digital assets, and creative industries, while also engaging policymakers, corporates, and ecosystem builders.”

Commenting on their participation, Digital for Development (D4D) Hub Africa Branch Deputy Coordinator, Hussein Jaffar, said, “Moonshot is an important space for putting Global Gateway into action by connecting African innovators with European investors and partners. Through the D4D Hub, the Europe team is working to turn these connections into concrete collaborations, showcasing scalable digital solutions and unlocking new investment opportunities that strengthen Africa’s innovation ecosystems and advance our shared global priorities.

Headline sponsored by Sabi (www.Sabi.am), Moonshot 2025 will also spotlight Africa’s bold adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). Also, Nigeria’s Minister of Trade Jumoke Oduwole will share insights into how progressive trade policies are empowering startups, expanding digital services exports, and positioning Nigeria as Africa’s hub for digital trade.

Moonshot by TechCabal, now firmly established as one of the most influential convenings of early- and growth-stage capital on the continent, will also feature a deep-dive session on Africa’s Next-Gen Payment Rails, exploring how Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), digital-first infrastructure, mobile money adoption, and cross-border interoperability are accelerating financial inclusion and powering new growth in trade. Another session will examine the role of cryptocurrencies and digital assets in shaping cross-border payments and opening up new models for financial access across Africa.

“APIs have become the backbone of digital commerce, enabling real-time settlement, embedded finance, and seamless cross-border transactions,” said Wole Ayodele, CEO of Fincra. “At Moonshot 2025, we are focusing on how these technologies can unlock growth and efficiency for businesses across Africa and beyond.”

Moonshot is a key platform for bringing together the people and ideas driving Africa’s digital economy,” said Tomi Oduyemi, Growth Lead of Cardtonic. “It creates the connections and insights that allow innovation to scale and deliver impact across the continent, and we are happy to play a major part this year.

Proudly supported by platinum sponsors Fincra, Raenest (www.Raenest.com), Flutterwave (https://Flutterwave.com/), Luno (www.Luno.com), Cardtonic (https://Cardtonic.com), Roqqu (https://Roqqu.com), Opay (www.Opayweb.com), Interswitch (https://Interswitchgroup.com/) and Busha (www.Busha.io), the two-day gathering is open to global and African VC investors, startup founders, top tech CEOs, policymakers, creatives, students, and support organisations driving Africa’s innovation economy.

With more than 120 speakers, nine signature content tracks, and over 4,000 expected participants, Moonshot 2025 builds on the success of last year’s edition, which convened more than 3,500 attendees from over 15 countries. Registration is still open at https://Moonshot.TechCabal.com/.

HAIKOU, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 28 August 2026 – Since the beginning of this year, an international social media promotion campaign themed “China’s Free Trade Port, World-Class Resort Island: Welcome to Cool Hainan” has brought China’s Hainan Free Trade Port into the view of global travelers, attracting more international tourists to visit this tropical island.

This international communication project was planned and implemented by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province. Through social media platforms, 56 travel-themed pieces of content were published for global audiences, with total exposures exceeding 16 million. The campaign spanned major inbound tourist source markets for Hainan—including Russian-speaking regions, Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America—distributed via multilingual accounts in Russian, Thai, Indonesian, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, ultimately reaching an audience of over 52 million followers.

Breaking from traditional promotional models, the campaign released seven themed series of Hainan tourism content featuring practical travel guides and immersive on-site scenarios, showcasing international branding labels such as “Cool Hainan”, “Top Ten Hainan Tourism Icons”, and “Cool Island”. Starting with high-end luxury getaways on the Sunshine Coast in January, themes shifted monthly: February showcased Hainan’s distinct Li and Miao ethnic Spring Festival customs; March focused on trendy surfing experiences and Wenchang aerospace study tours; April highlighted water sports and wellness tourism; May featured archaeological study tours and rainforest adventures; June promoted rainforest self-driving tours and ethnic minority villages; and July rolled out “Ten Signature Marine Tourism Routes”, with a single post achieving over 2.6 million impressions.

This content not only showcases diverse landscapes and experiences such as bays, rainforests, folk customs, health and wellness, and sports, but also highlights practical travel information including visa-free policies for 86 countries, temporary permits for foreign driver’s licenses, shopping, and duty-free/departure tax refund policies for off-island travel, seamlessly integrating the island’s natural scenery, local intangible cultural heritage, and modern tourism consumption business formats.

Global social media users have shown a strong interest in traveling to Hainan. Many have left comments asking about specific details such as visa-free policies, dining, accommodation, sightseeing, and self-driving trips, and several users said they have added Hainan to their future travel bucket lists.

Hainan hopes to leverage this themed social media campaign to build an international image as a “World-Class Resort Island”, enhance its appeal as an inbound tourism destination, and support Hainan’s development into an international tourism and consumption center. According to an official from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, Hainan possesses tropical coastal tourism resources that are unique in China. Capitalizing on the policy dividends and openness advantages of the Free Trade Port, Hainan will continue to optimize its tourism service offerings for international visitors and foster a tourism consumption environment that meets international standards.

CIT VERICASH Recognized as Best Digital Financial Services Platform of 2026 by Global Business Outlook

Published

on

The recognition marks the latest in a series of industry acknowledgements for the company, which in 2025 was awarded Best Digital Transformation Platform, Fintech Strategic Partner of the Year, and Best Financial Services Platform Africa

LAGOS, Nigeria, August 24, 2026/APO Group/ –CIT VERICASH (https://www.CITVericash.com/), the fintech enablement platform serving banks and financial institutions across Africa, has been awarded Best Digital Financial Services Platform 2026 by Global Business Outlook, the UK-based international business publication known for its annual awards recognizing transformative performance across global financial markets.

The recognition marks the latest in a series of industry acknowledgements for the company, which in 2025 was awarded Best Digital Transformation Platform, Fintech Strategic Partner of the Year, and Best Financial Services Platform Africa. For CIT VERICASH, the Global Business Outlook award extends the company’s growing international profile at a moment when digital financial services adoption across sub-Saharan Africa is accelerating at institutional scale.

Those numbers are difficult to dispute. A single deployment of the VERICASH platform currently powers the digital banking operations of a pan-African banking group across 22 countries, processing over 500 transactions per second, handling more than 30 million digital services per day, and maintaining more than 7 million active subscribers. In the client’s first five years of full digital platform operations, the results compounded: 5x growth in digital subscribers, 10x growth in monthly transactions, and 30x growth in monthly financial transaction value, translating directly into higher fee income and lower servicing costs.

Building the Backbone of African Digital Finance

CIT VERICASH, a division of CIT GLOBAL, draws on the parent company’s 30-plus years of system integration and software expertise since its founding in Toronto in 1993, delivering award-winning technology to clients across more than 50 countries.

The cornerstone of the company’s performance is the VERICASH Fintech Enablement Platform, a centralized, integrated ecosystem designed to enable financial institutions to launch, operate, optimize, and continuously scale digital financial services through a single platform. Powered by an agile, low-code/no-code service builder, the platform allows commercial banks, digital banks, microfinance institutions, mobile money operators, and fintechs to rapidly deploy and evolve digital banking, agency banking, mobile wallets, payment ecosystems, lending, and other financial services while reducing complexity, accelerating time-to-market, and maximizing the value of existing infrastructure. Currently live in approximately 25 markets across Africa, the platform supports Tier 1 banks, digital banks, neobanks, and fintech operators with the technology, operational capabilities, and strategic enablement required to drive sustainable digital growth.

Global Business Outlook, in selecting CIT VERICASH for the 2026 award, pointed to the platform’s demonstrated ability to operate at institutional scale across fragmented regulatory environments, a challenge that continues to frustrate expansion-minded financial institutions across the continent.

Strategic Partnership That Goes beyond software delivery

To ensure sustainable, long-term client growth, CIT VERICASH anchors every deployment in a Strategic Partnership Model that extends far beyond traditional software delivery. Rather than acting as a technology vendor, CIT VERICASH operates as a long-term strategic partner, aligning technology, operational excellence, and business growth around shared success.

The partnership model combines a scalable fintech platform with dedicated Centres of Excellence, 24/7 operational monitoring, continuous platform optimization, development and customization capabilities, business intelligence and performance analytics, application quality support, and proactive fraud monitoring. Beyond technology operations, CIT VERICASH works alongside clients to evaluate business models, support licensing requirements, build operational teams, develop financial forecasts, and accelerate go-to-market execution for new digital service offerings.

Supported by a collaborative revenue-sharing model that aligns incentives between CIT VERICASH and its partners, this approach enables financial institutions to reduce technology risk, accelerate profitability, continuously evolve their digital capabilities, and unlock sustainable long-term growth.

This enterprise-grade approach has translated into critical long-term alliances. In East Africa, CIT VERICASH has formed a strategic alliance with Bluechip Technologies, combining the VERICASH platform with Bluechip’s localized market expertise to deliver agency banking, digital payments, and mobile wallets to banks, telcos, and fintechs. Further across the continent, a decade-long partnership with CWG PLC in West Africa that powers large-scale financial ecosystems.

A key differentiator shaping CIT VERICASH’s product direction is its approach to artificial intelligence. Rather than positioning machine learning as an optional layer, the company operates under a clear philosophy: “AI is not a feature. It is how the digital channel thinks, decides, and acts.” By embedding 360° AI-powered capabilities across retail, SME, and corporate banking, including personalized customer experiences, automated credit scoring, real-time transaction risk scoring, and proactive fraud prevention, the platform is built for the next generation of digital finance infrastructure, not the last.

A Pattern of Recognition

What distinguishes CIT VERICASH’s recent run of awards from standard industry noise is the consistency. Three industry recognitions in 2025, now followed by an international designation from Global Business Outlook in 2026, suggest a narrative that is beginning to cut through: a company that has spent years building infrastructure continues to be acknowledged because its clients are scaling profitable, inclusive digital services.

The timing is not incidental. Digital financial services adoption across sub-Saharan Africa accelerated sharply following the pandemic, and the institutions that emerged well-positioned were largely those that had invested in scalable ecosystems rather than attempting to build proprietary stacks. CIT VERICASH positioned itself on the right side of that structural shift.
