BEIJING, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 November 2025 – China showcased its environmental achievements at a side session during the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, on November 10, underscoring its broader vision of ecological civilization and its ongoing efforts to address climate change.

The event, held at the China Pavilion under the theme on ecological civilization and the practice of building a “Beautiful China,”, brought together senior Chinese officials and top United Nations climate leaders.

China’s Minister of Ecology and Environment (MEE) Huang Runqiu said at the event that the country has placed ecological civilization at an “unprecedented height” since 2012, integrating carbon reduction, pollution control, ecosystem restoration, and high-quality growth.

“China has created remarkable ecological and green development miracles,” he said, adding that the country will continue advancing ecological civilization with broader vision and stronger measures while implementing its national strategy and promoting the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative, for tackling climate change, to help address climate change.

Other keynote speakers included the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Executive Secretary Simon Stiell, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Executive Director Inger Andersen, Selwin Hart, Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Climate Action and Just Transition, and China’s special envoy for climate change Liu Zhenmin.

Li Gao, China’s COP30 delegation head and vice minister of MEE, chaired the opening remarks session.

Li said China remains a “determined actor and major contributor to global green development,” and will continue constructive engagement in multilateral climate processes while upholding the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities. He called for strengthened unity to build “a clean, beautiful and sustainable world.”

Stiell described China as “a cornerstone of global climate action,” emphasizing its long-standing role in South-South cooperation and sustained commitment to dialogue under the Paris Agreement framework. He said China’s practical contributions have advanced international climate governance.

UNEP’s Andersen said China’s guiding concept that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” reflects “deep development wisdom.” She noted China’s global leadership in multiple sectors, including electric vehicle production and sales, declining energy intensity per unit of GDP, and the rapid expansion of its national carbon market. These achievements, she said, offer “valuable lessons to countries charting their own green transitions.”

Hart stressed that COP30 must become a “turning point” in humanity’s response to the escalating climate crisis. The first decade under the Paris Agreement has shown that climate goals are achievable, he said, urging nations to adopt stronger collective action over the next 10 years to bring global climate governance back on track.

Climate envoy Liu Zhenmin underscored the symbolic timing: the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement and the fifth year since China announced its carbon peaking and neutrality pledges. He highlighted China’s new nationally determined contribution unveiled on Sept. 24, which for the first time outlines economy-wide net emissions reductions after reaching carbon peak and details major accompanying actions. The updated commitments, he said, send a “strong signal of China’s firm resolve” to tackle climate change.

During the event, two reports that highlight China’s ecological civilization progress and its updated climate policy roadmap were released, providing new data and case studies on green development and climate action. In parallel, a public-interest song promoting environmental awareness was launched globally.

Hosted by the MEE and the Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization Research Center, the session aimed to share experience, build consensus, and support the COP30 agenda.

BAZHONG, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 21 September 2026 – The 24th Sichuan Guangwu Mountain International Red Leaf Festival will run from October 1 to November 18 at the Guangwu Mountain Tourism Area in Bazhong, Sichuan Province, China.

Located in southwest China, Guangwu Mountain boasts a forest coverage rate of 97%, earning its reputation as a “natural oxygen bar.” Each autumn, 680 square kilometers of mountain forests burst into a dazzling palette. Over 40 tree species, including Fagus pashanica, maples and lindens, weave the mountains into a stunning autumn landscape.

Known as “Asia’s longest natural red carpet,” the Mountain has become a top autumn destination for backpackers, photographers and travelers seeking immersive cultural and nature experiences, and is widely recognized as one of western China’s signature autumn attractions.

The tourism area caters to international visitors who prefer slower-paced, in-depth, off-the-beaten-path travel. The new Yanziling Loop Boardwalk, launched in May 2026, winds along mountain cliffs, with a sea of clouds rolling beneath visitors’ feet and brilliant foliage unfolding alongside the trail, creating the feeling of “stepping into a painting.”

Guangwu Mountain offers a wealth of outdoor attractions. Highlights include the 1,888-meter Red Leaf Coaster and a glass water slide certified by Guinness World Record, combining thrilling experiences with stunning natural scenery.

The large-scale immersive production “New Dream of Guangwu Mountain” integrates cutting-edge light and visual technology with Bashan folklore and traditions, transforming the forest into an atmospheric nighttime experience. Visitors can also enjoy welcome performances and interactive robot activities, which offer more ways to discover the mountain’s late-autumn charm.

A major highlight of this year’s festival is the newly completed Micang Avenue. Stretching 85 kilometers, the route connects seven core scenic spots, including Guangwu Mountain, Micang Mountain, and Nuoshui River, reducing a four-hour drive to just one hour. Lined with continuous stretches of colorful forest and layered peaks, the avenue brings brand-new travel experiences for autumn foliage enthusiasts.

The festival will also feature cultural, sports and international exchange activities, including the third season of the “Sending You a Red Leaf” campaign, the China Micang Avenue International Road Cycling Race, and the “World Red Leaf Landmark” global collection campaign.

In addition, 31 scenic attractions and 18 museums and cultural venues across Bazhong will provide special ticket offers and visitor benefits during the festival.

Across mountains and seas, Guangwu Mountain invites visitors from around the world to witness one of China’s most vibrant red-and-gold autumn displays.

Eleven agreements, new exploration commitments and billions of dollars in planned investment highlight Angola’s push to convert upstream reform into projects, production and broader energy-sector growth

LUANDA, Angola, September 18, 2026/APO Group/ –The Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2026 Conference and Exhibition – organized by Energy Capital & Power (https://EnergyCapitalPower.com) – concluded in Luanda with a clear emphasis on accelerating exploration and production. Across three days, 11 deals were signed, new entrants outlined plans to establish positions in the country and existing operators committed billions of dollars to further exploration and development. The outcomes of the event reaffirm AOG as the official investment platform for the country’s oil and gas sector.

Eleven Deals Advance Angola’s Investment Pipeline

Eleven agreements were formalized during AOG 2026, spanning new acreage, mature-field investment, financing, gas-based industry and emissions reduction. Angola’s National Oil, Gas & Biofuels Agency (ANPG) signed agreements with international oil companies covering deepwater Blocks 19, 34 and 35; Blocks 8 and 22; Block 33/24; Blocks 17/25 and 32/21; and further investment in Block 32. Agreements also supported incremental production at Blocks 15 and 31, financing for Etu Energias’ expansion at Block 14 and the social responsibility component of Amufert’s planned $2 billion Soyo fertilizer complex.

Exploration Moves to the Forefront

The ANPG set a target of at least 10 wells annually as Angola seeks to rebuild its exploration pipeline and offset mature-field decline. Shell pledged to pursue exploration aggressively following three agreements signed at AOG. Corcel is also considering a mid-2027 exploration well at KON-16 in the onshore Kwanza Basin following completion of a 326-line-km 2D seismic campaign.

TotalEnergies, Chevron Double Down

Existing operators used AOG to reaffirm long-term investment. TotalEnergies announced plans to invest $10 billion alongside project partners across its Angolan portfolio over the next five years, while further investment at Dalia could unlock up to 400 million barrels under Angola’s incremental-production framework. Chevron plans additional investment in Block 0 following the concession’s extension to 2050.

Pertamina, Panoro Eye Angola Entry

AOG also brought indications of new international participation. Indonesia’s Pertamina announced plans to pursue an upstream operator role in Angola. Panoro Energy, meanwhile, is assessing opportunities across Angola’s onshore, offshore, frontier and brownfield segments. Senior Advisor Tim O’Hanlon said that “it won’t be long before we are in Angola,” highlighting favorable fiscal terms and increasing competition.

Pre-Conference Sets Investment Agenda

AOG 2026 began with a dedicated pre-conference program focused on Angola’s next phase of oil and gas development. Workshops and technical discussions examined gas infrastructure, downstream markets, exploration technology and investment opportunities, setting the stage for the commitments announced during the main conference.

Gas and Refining Shift Toward Domestic Value Creation

Angola’s Gas Master Plan emerged as a major industrialization platform, targeting approximately $13 billion in midstream and downstream investment across five hubs. Downstream expansion is advancing in parallel. Angola is targeting 425,000 barrels per day of refining capacity across Luanda, Cabinda, Lobito and Soyo as it seeks to reduce a refined-product import bill that reached approximately $1.96 billion in the first half of 2026.

AOG Recognizes Industry and Emerging Talent

The AOG Awards recognized achievements across the value chain, with Azule Energy named Game Changer of the Year, Sonangol Explorer of the Year, Etu Energias Local Company of the Year and the Cabinda Refinery Downstream Player of the Year. Aníbal Octávio Teixeira da Silva received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Four female students – Abigail Francisco Boa, Chana Lisboa, Genilda Ricardo and Madalena Yanesa Ramos Neto – also received the Albina Faria de Assis Pereira Africano Scholarship, which provides financial support to leading female entrants to Angola’s National Petroleum Institute.

ANPG Expands Investor Access

The ANPG took another step toward improving the investment environment, launching an upgraded website featuring AI-powered search and a dedicated investor space. The platform provides greater access to industry data, investment opportunities and ANPG teams, supporting faster communication between the regulator and prospective investors.

Exhibition Connects Industry Players

Alongside the conference, the AOG 2026 exhibition brought together operators, service companies, technology providers and government institutions, providing a platform to showcase projects, capabilities and investment opportunities across Angola’s oil and gas value chain.
