Caribbean Energy Week

CEW 2027 will feature high-level panel discussions, exclusive networking sessions, deal signings and project showcases, connecting investors with emerging opportunities across the Caribbean’s volving energy sector

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, August 17, 2026/APO Group/ –The second annual Caribbean Energy Week (CEW) will take place in Guyana from July 13–15, 2027, convening regional governments, international energy companies and investors as the Caribbean accelerates efforts to unlock its oil, gas and power potential. Held under the patronage of Guyana’s President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali and with the endorsement of The Honorable Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat, the event will spotlight Guyana’s growing role in shaping the region’s energy future.

Under the theme, Unlocking the Caribbean Energy Corridor: Oil, Gas, LNG & Investment for a New Global Hub, CEW 2027 will focus on strengthening regional energy integration, accelerating infrastructure development and mobilizing investment across the energy value chain. The event will connect established and emerging producers with global investors to advance projects that can strengthen energy security, industrialization and economic growth.

Guyana is at the center of this transformation. The country is expanding oil production beyond the ExxonMobil-led Stabroek Block while accelerating gas monetization and power infrastructure. In August, ExxonMobil launched new drilling activities in Guyana’s Exclusive Economic Zone, including the Whiptail development well and Rockhead-1 exploration well, supporting national production targets of 1.3 million barrels per day by 2027 and 1.7 million barrels per day by 2030.

ExxonMobil is also advancing major developments including Uaru and Hammerhead, while Siemens Energy is supporting the rollout of the 300 MW Gas-to-Energy project. The initiative forms part of Guyana’s strategy to monetize natural gas, strengthen domestic power supply and support broader industrial development.

The Caribbean is at a pivotal turning point in its energy transition, fueled by rapid upstream oil and gas expansion

Across the region, Trinidad and Tobago is also expanding its gas value chain and creating new opportunities for investors. bp’s Ginger and Mento developments, alongside Shell’s Manatee and Aphrodite fields, are expected to support growth in upstream gas production from 2027. Ongoing exploration could unlock nearly 60 trillion cubic feet of additional natural gas resources.

The country’s gas potential is further underscored by bp’s agreement to acquire Woodside Energy’s 70% interest in the Calypso gas project, strengthening its position in Trinidad and Tobago’s upstream sector and highlighting continued investor interest in the country’s gas resources.

In Suriname, upstream momentum is also accelerating. In June 2026, PETRONAS announced a new gas discovery at Block 52 offshore Suriname, reinforcing the country’s potential for further large-scale hydrocarbon discoveries. TotalEnergies is also planning a four-well exploration campaign in Block 58 in 2027, expanding activity beyond its $10.5 billion GranMorgu development and targeting additional commercial resources.

Outside the upstream segment, investment opportunities are also expanding with several mega-projects underway, including Shell’s new LNG regasification terminal in The Bahamas which launched in July 2026.

These developments and many more highlight the Caribbean’s growing oil and gas potential and the investment opportunities emerging across the wider energy value chain.

“The Caribbean is at a pivotal turning point in its energy transition, fueled by rapid upstream oil and gas expansion alongside substantial investments in midstream infrastructure, power, and workforce development,” said Sandra Jacque, Vice President at Energy Capital & Power. “CEW 2027 will bridge regional markets with global capital, technology, and expertise to fast-track infrastructure and forge a unified Caribbean energy corridor.”

Building on the inaugural CEW 2026, the 2027 edition will expand its focus on investment, project development and regional cooperation. As Caribbean energy markets seek to maximize their hydrocarbon resources, strengthen power infrastructure and expand regional connectivity, CEW 2027 will provide a platform to advance projects, partnerships and investments shaping the region’s emergence as a global energy hub.

The forum will strengthen investment ties between Venezuela and Africa while advancing South-South energy cooperation

CAPE TOWN, South Africa, August 7, 2026/APO Group/ –The Venezuela Global Investment Forum will take place during African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 in Cape Town from October 12 -16, bringing together senior Venezuelan government officials, national oil company leadership, international energy executives, financiers and commodity traders to showcase one of the world’s most significant energy market reopening while creating a direct pathway for global investment into Venezuela’s rapidly evolving hydrocarbons sector.

Organized as a flagship feature of AEW 2026, the Venezuela Global Investment Forum underscores the growing momentum behind the country’s energy sector reforms and its renewed engagement with international investors. More than a traditional conference session, the Forum will connect investors directly with bankable upstream, natural gas, infrastructure and power opportunities by showcasing Venezuelan projects alongside some of Africa’s largest energy developments in the AEW Deal Room.

Following sweeping reforms to the country’s Organic Hydrocarbons Law earlier this year, Venezuela has introduced one of its most comprehensive investment overhauls in decades. The reforms expand opportunities for private operators, establish new production participation contracts, introduce more competitive fiscal terms and strengthen international arbitration mechanisms aimed at reducing investment risk and restoring confidence among international capital providers.

Venezuela is opening a new chapter for its energy industry

“Venezuela is opening a new chapter for its energy industry. The reforms underway are creating a more competitive and attractive investment environment and the Venezuela Global Investment Forum at AEW 2026 provides the ideal platform for international investors to engage directly with decision-makers and explore the opportunities emerging across the country’s oil, gas, infrastructure and power sectors,” says NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman, African Energy Chamber.

These reforms are already reshaping the investment landscape. The government is targeting crude production of 1.4 million barrels per day (bpd) by the end of 2026 after output recovered to approximately 1.2 million bpd during the first half of the year. Beyond oil production, Venezuela is advancing a broader strategy centered on natural gas monetization, offshore development, infrastructure rehabilitation and power sector modernization, creating opportunities across the entire energy value chain.

Throughout the Forum, delegates will hear directly from ministers, senior government officials, national oil company executives, international operators, development finance institutions, commodity traders and technical leaders responsible for implementing Venezuela’s new investment framework. Discussions will focus on expanding upstream investment, accelerating natural gas development, modernizing infrastructure and creating long-term partnerships that support Venezuela’s renewed role in global energy markets.

The forum also reinforces the strategic relationship between AEW 2026 and Venezuela Energy Week, which will take place in Caracas from February 22-25, 2027. Together, the two events form a coordinated international investment campaign that begins by introducing global investors to Venezuela’s reformed investment environment in Cape Town before continuing in Caracas, where commercial negotiations, technical engagement and project execution will move toward final investment decisions.

As global energy markets continue to prioritize supply security, infrastructure investment and new sources of production growth, Venezuela is positioning itself to re-establish its role as a major international energy supplier. Through the Venezuela Global Investment Forum at AEW 2026, investors will gain an unparalleled opportunity to engage with the country’s new investment framework, evaluate commercially attractive projects and build partnerships that support Venezuela’s return to global energy markets while strengthening cooperation between Africa and Latin America.
